Why knownly is different

Most DISC tools are corporate.
This one walks with you.

Biblical persona match

Every report matches you to one of eight biblical figures whose life carries patterns like yours — Paul, Peter, Ruth, Daniel, and four others. Not theology. A mirror.

Built for couples & families

Take it together. We build dynamics reports for couples, families, and small groups — strengths, friction points, and one practice for the week.

AI-personalised, never generic

Your prayer and reflection are written for your blend, not your bucket. The framework is honest. The words are yours.

Meet your match

Eight biblical figures.
One of them is wired like you.

Honest about their failures, hopeful about their growth. The match is a starting point — your report shows how their strengths, shadows, and growth arc speak to your life today.

For two, or for the whole household

Take it with the people you actually live with.

Most personality tools stop at the individual. knownly reads your blends together. Couple reports surface the friction patterns you already know about and a few you haven't named yet. Family reports give parents one specific way to disciple across the types in the house this week. Small groups can map their dynamics in 30 minutes.

  • ·Couple report — your two blends, the gift you bring each other, the predictable friction, one practice for this week.
  • ·Family report — every member, what this combination brings, where it strains, parent-to-child guidance per type.
  • ·Small-group dashboard — a map of the room, useful for leaders.

What this is, honestly

DISC is a useful framework, not a clinical instrument. The biblical figures we match you to are illustrations, not theological types. This is a mirror, not a diagnosis.

DISC has limited scientific validation compared with something like the Big Five, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. We use it because the four categories are memorable and produce a clear mirror.

Paul is not the “D apostle.” Ruth is not the “S Moabite.” They were real, complex people whose lives carry patterns we can learn from. The match is meant to draw your attention to one life in scripture; the rest is for you and God to walk through together.

Questions

The honest answers.

  • Is DISC biblical?

DISC is not in the Bible. It's a behavioural framework developed by William Marston in 1928, and it has no theological authority of its own. We use it because the four categories — Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness — are a memorable, practical way of describing how people typically behave, and the patterns it surfaces show up clearly in many biblical lives.

What we don't do is claim that DISC is biblical, or that Paul was a "D" in any spiritual sense. We use the biblical figures as illustrations of behavioural patterns. Scripture is the authority. DISC is the lens.

  • How accurate is this?

Honestly: useful, not clinical. DISC has limited scientific validation compared with academic instruments like the Big Five. The four categories are real and observable, but the precise percentages should be taken as directional, not surgical. If your primary type comes out as D at 71% and your friend's comes out as D at 68%, the difference between you is not meaningfully measurable.

What knownly does well is produce a clear mirror of how you typically behave, especially in the strengths-and-shadow combination. What it cannot do is diagnose you, predict your future, or replace knowing yourself the slow way — through scripture, prayer, and the people who love you.

  • Do I need an account?

No — not to take the assessment, and not to receive your free preview. Just answer the 40 questions and your result will appear at the end with a private share link.

If you want to save your report across devices, unlock the full report, or compare with family, you can create a free account using your email. We send you a one-time login link; there's no password to manage.

  • Can my family take it together?

Yes. The individual assessment is the same for everyone; what changes is what we generate at the end. If you buy a couple's report, the two of you each take the assessment separately, and we generate a joint dynamics report once both are in. Same for families — buy a 4-seat family pack, each member takes it, and the family report unlocks progressively as everyone joins. Couple and family reports are part of Phase 2; if you're reading this and they aren't live yet, they're coming.

  • What translation of scripture do you use?

By default, the World English Bible (WEB) — a modern, public-domain English translation. We chose it because it's faithful to the source texts, readable, and free of licensing restrictions, which keeps the tool free for everyone.

We've built knownly so other translations (ESV, NIV, NLT, etc.) can be added later under proper licence. Portuguese is on the roadmap with the Almeida Revista e Corrigida (ARC).

  • Is my data private?

Yes. Your answers and your report are private to you. We do not sell, share, or rent your data. Your share link is unguessable but public-by-link, so don't post it anywhere you wouldn't be comfortable with someone reading it.

If you create an account, we store your email so we can send your login links. You can export everything we have on you (/api/me/export) and delete your account permanently (/api/me/delete) any time. Anonymous assessments are automatically deleted after twelve months. We're hosted in the EU. We don't use third-party tracking cookies; our analytics is privacy-respecting (Plausible).

  • Who built this?

knownly is a small, independent project, drafted by a single operator with AI assistance and reviewed by a theological reviewer before publication. It is not affiliated with any commercial DISC product, church, or denomination. See the About page for the full story and contact details.
